FAQs for Partners

IRS regulations (7216) prevent us from getting or sharing individual level data that is collected in a tax preparation session.

Both www.MyFreeTaxes.com and MyFreeTaxes.thebeehive.org urls point to the same place. We suggest using MyFreeTaxes.com/yourURL for marketing the project to the public. The actual site is housed within the Beehive, our self-help website.

You may use either one.

According to the IRS, links with the SIDN loaded should be used only where a tax coach is present.

If you would like to advertise the service to the public through newsletters, flyers, radio, or other channels, a "public" link where no SIDN is included should be used instead.

No. One Economy does not get individual acknowledgements.

If the return is rejected, the client will receive an email alerting them to the rejection from H&R Block with the expectation that they will fix the issue. Approximately two weeks to a month later, the site manager will also receive notification from One Economy by email. At this point, the site manager follows up with the client to confirm that the rejection has been handled and works to fix any errors.

The organization only hears about rejections, by email. They will receive them from One Economy approximately every two weeks. The reject notices are sent only to sites preparing facilitated returns.

The software keeps a PDF version of the return until 12/31. We recommend printing a copy for the client and (if appropriate) emailing them a copy of the return upon completion.
